2019 GPS Dream Interpretation Part Three

See 2019 GPS Dream and 2019 GPS Dream Interpretation - Part Two

I have provided insight below on how to analyze the Biblical symbols from this dream. It is similar to how Jesus provided an understanding of the Parable of the Sower and the Seed. In the parable, the Sower referred to the farmer and the Word of God replaced the seed. God uses dreams in a similar fashion. This helps us to carefully and prayerfully understand our God-dreams.

Scene One:

  • Passenger: I believe the passenger represents Christ (invisible).

  • Embankment: It is the end of the road for us. Our time and way of life as we have known it for the past three years is coming to an end (i.e., neighborhood, suburb lifestyle). Where God sends us may look different.

  • Driving: I am in control. A positive message to this is that I’m willing to take risks and go with God. On the flip side, I’m steering my own destiny and God should be driving.

    • GPS: The GPS fell, reinforcing I need to listen to God or I will “crash,” hit a dead end. Warning - don’t steer my own destiny, which sent me into the embankment. There is a time to follow a map, but I must remember to follow God’s instructions, his voice, his “map” at all times.

    • Backing up: I knew in my heart it was about going back in order to move forward. As I prayed, what I felt in my spirit was the importance of not losing “my first love” with Christ. Remain in intimacy and relationship with Christ in order to know which way to go. It is confirmed by the instructions in the following three scenes. Listen to what the Holy Spirit speaks to your inner-being upon waking up from your dream. Don’t rely on symbols for the interpretation.

    • Looking back: Reflect on what God did in the past. My GPS Dream was given to encourage and show me a way to trust the Lord as we prepared to take a leap of faith from Michigan to Germany. The Lord, in his amazing grace, gave us another GPS dream to say “I’m doing the same.” “The miracles I did for you in the past, I will do again.” It is a dream to know what to do, what not to do, as we begin this unknown journey with God. I’m totally blown away by how God guides from year-to-year and gives us what we need in the areas he calls us to.

 Scene Two:

After moving to a new city, our trips outside of the city did not afford us the time to get fully engaged in the community. It has been our heart’s desire to live in community and God knows the longing we have to be engaged.

  • Eric: Eric represents the importance of family, being with other believers, and living in community. Eric fasts weekly. This is significant because fasting is not something I’m good at. The Lord is showing me that I need to pray and make this a regular part of my spiritual journey.

    • Pizza: Symbolic for the Word, the Bread of Life (Matthew 6:35). To move forward and know the will of God, I must be well-nourished and be a person of prayer and fasting. Nehemiah 1:4

    • Family: Part of growing spiritually is being part of a community of believers. The Bible says in Hebrews 10:24-25 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

    • During the time of isolation, I see how this scene became personal for Eric. He had some major decisions to make that would effect him and his family. I believe it was a message to encourage and remind him to do what he has always done, i., pray, fast, and rely on God and his Word. As he continues to surrender his will and ways to the Lord as he has done over the years, the Lord will guide him and his family and to the end (where he ends up in the dream). God will take care of him and his family. The Lord is good.

  • Italy: Does it mean our ministry will be abroad? For me, it highlights the importance of praying that our hearts will remain willing  to do the will of God and say, “send me.”

Scene Three:

  • Church: The scene is about the importance of the church. God gave us pastors to teach and train us. “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 KJV

  • Overhead screens. Be willing to donate your resources and time. Support God’s church and pastors and teachers. This scene emphasizes our responsibility to meet the needs of the church and to serve.

    • In the Bible, God commanded the Israelites to pay the priests. We, as the body of Christ, are to tithe. Tithe pays the pastor’s salaries, for the building, the lights, heat, etc. If we don’t do it, who will? God was confirming that for now, we are to serve where we are. How this unfolded was our two-month journey in limbo when the coronavirus broke out and our year-long plans were disrupted. For two months we were in a different city and prayed which church to attend on Sunday. We asked the Lord to show us where to give of our offering. We want to be faithful stewards of what God has given us.

  • Home church: Francis Chan’s book Letters to the Church is an example of how the church can look outside the formal structure of a church. The key is to ensure the church is as God designed it to be in the Bible. Acts 2

    • YouTube/Podcasts sermons: Millions of people benefited greatly from internet sermons during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do not believe “church” is meant to be solely lived out at home unless it is truly a “home church.” I believe the enemy will try to use this experience to draw people away from the community with other believers who are serving others, giving of offering, and being the church. There may come a day persecution forces us to remain in our homes, but until that freedom is taken away, ensure the church serves the community in a building or in a home. Community includes times of prayer. The enemy will quickly strip this from your community when you leave the four walls of your church. Be careful. How would you define community for the body of Christ?

Scene Four:

  • Go! When I left for Germany my friend wasn’t saved. I believe this dream symbolizes and emphasizes that when we are obedient to the Lord and follow him; remain in the Word and in God’s presence, fellowship with believers, and attend church, then we are prepared to witness to the lost.

  • Emoji: Confirms what happens to a life when they find Jesus. They are changed into the likeness of Christ, i.e., radiant, beautiful, perfect in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (new creation)

Scenes 1 through 3 are a picture of the command Christ gave us to go into the world and preach the gospel. Scene 4 is a beautiful picture of the results when we do the will of the Father.

The four scenes also represent the four corners of the earth. They are a picture of the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ reaching to the far ends of the earth when we “go.” Acts 1:8.

Thank you, Jesus, for this dream and the beautiful message of how to trust you with my future, the reminder to remain in your Word and presence, and that you have chosen Rick and me for a special assignment to share your Truth. I pray that we will hear your voice clearly and that we do not steer our own destiny, and we will be faithful to you first and foremost. Thank you, Jesus.
