Vehicles in Dreams

Vehicles in Dreams

If you are quick to dismiss dreams as a significant and vital way in which God communicates, perhaps one reason is because the first thing you grab upon waking up is your mobile device. What may have been an obvious dream from God may have been quickly dismissed because your attention was first directed toward those on the other end of your phone.

The reality is, if those on the other end of your mobile device get more of your attention than the Holy Spirit, I imagine you’re missing a lot of what God is trying to say to you in an average 24 hour day.

Many don’t believe their dreams are from God and tragically, they’d rather give the devil credit that he’s the author of them and that dreams are about spiritual darkness. By doing so, they stay clear of what the Creator said about the created and the full teachings in scripture on this subject.

When you live a godly, spirit-led life, you don’t have to fear the enemy tripping you up when it comes to seeking spiritual understanding about the meaning of your God-dreams.

“Once we understand that God is the Creator and the devil is the imitator, we don’t have to fear that Christian dream interpretation or the gifts of the Spirit are vehicles to bring us into the occult” 1 Corinthians 12. A. Thompson; A. Beale. The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions

For those seeking to understand the meaning of their dreams without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it can lead them into the occult world and create strongholds in their lives. Therefore, I believe it’s imperative to align the overall message with scripture.

When we leave God’s word out of the interpretation, we are in danger of going down a path that is similar to fortune tellers and psychic readers. You may not seek those individuals out, but without the voice of God guiding you, you are in danger of abandoning the truth of God and acting in the same way. It’s this line you don’t want to cross.

God wants us to seek him for the answers to the mysteries that are found in him. By doing so we draw closer to him and we gain the godly wisdom he asks us to seek. “Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles.” Proverbs 1:5-6

When we walk in relationship with God, when we seek to understand symbols in dreams and visions, God will help us to translate them into a message that makes sense to us. When Jeremiah had a vision, God asked him what he saw (Jeremiah 1:11). He responded, “ almond tree,” and then God said, “That’s right, it means…”

When a vehicle is in your dream, here are some questions you can ask upon waking up that may help personalize the dream and give you ways to pray for clarity.

  1. Were you in the car?

  2. Was anybody else in the car?

  3. Who was driving?

  4. Who was in the front seat, who was in the backseat?

  5. Was this vehicle for personal use, business, or touring?

  6. What was the destination?

The more you pray about your dream, continue to search for relevant scripture to the overall theme of your dream before replacing symbols. Example: fish and boat in a dream will more than likely connect to scriptures about Peter and fishers of men. See additional post under Dream Tips & Tools
