Military Camp Dream

Scene one: I was just an observer in this scene of the dream. It was as if people had to go to a military camp and stay there. I saw one of my friends who is a devout Hindu and a very good guy. He had gotten his own bed and brought sunlight into the room with him. When he laid down, the light radiated through the bed.

Scene two: I saw a baby and picked him up from behind and began playing with him. His mother had been feeding him and I thought, “She’s weird.” She asked me to go and get something from another room. We had never met before and because of this, something felt strangely odd. I didn’t feel comfortable doing this and somehow I got rid of her.

I started climbing stairs and a pastor who works with my dad was walking down the stairs. As he passed me, he whispered in my ear, “be careful about that woman.”

Scene three: In this scene, I'm on the road and she's behind me. She tries to talk but I still find something fishy about her and I don’t give any attention to her. End of dream.

INTERPRETATION

Scene one:

Military Camp: This is symbolic of the enemy’s camp and where the enemy is in control. My friend is within the enemy’s army, [Hindu]. He’s unaware a light is following him into the room and that light represents God. It is symbolic of how God is seeking him out and trying to reach my friend. The Bible says,

“I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you, the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalm 139:11-12

This dream is a beautiful picture of God’s love for my dear friend and how I can pray for him.

Salvation: He isn’t aware he needs to be delivered from the enemy’s camp, nor does he know he needs Jesus as his savior. He is a good person, but being good isn’t enough to save him.

Scene two: Because this scene is within the same dream, I feel it is a picture and confirmation of how I’m to view my friend’s spiritual condition. It provides a guide on how to pray for him. The enemy [mother] is close and feeding him false truth [Hinduism]. When she asks me to get something in another room it is a scene of how the enemy is trying to keep me away from him [a believer]. The enemy recognized that I was a person of God. The woman signifies that the enemy is continually trying to interfere in the daily lives of man.

I believe he will be saved and I must pray against the attacks of the enemy that will come as a “baby in Christ.” He will be immature in his faith and Satan will do what he can to keep him from believers who will help him mature in his relationship with Christ.

Matthew 8:28-30 states, “When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes, two men who were possessed by demons met him. They came out of the tombs and were so violent that no one could go through that area. They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?” There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance.”

The pastor represents two different conditions of the heart. Climbing the ladder is symbolic of going into the spiritual realm with Jesus and spending time with Him. It’s symbolic for what we see in scripture when God asked Moses to go up the mountain to speak to him. “Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The Lord called to him from the mountain and said…” Exodus 19:3; 24:12-13

There are times we need to go to the “hill country” and get a better view to see more differently, to see like the father. Luke 1:39

In addition, coming downstairs reveals to me that I need to be sensitive to the needs of others and lift them up to Christ in prayer. I knew the person in this dream, therefore, one specific way I can use this dream to pray for him is so that nothing will hinder him from spending time with the Lord (going downstairs) and that he will continue to grow in the knowledge of God (climb the stairs).

The Lord prepared my heart to discern the enemy when I was with the woman, which prepared my heart to be sensitive to the needs of this man. The Holy Spirit will give us direction who to help and how to help them.

Scene three: The enemy is threatened by God’s children. Satan and his demons go on the offense to keep us from knowing God and to distract the believers. When I left, she followed me. I must not be deceived and unaware. The enemy wants me as much as he wants my friend.

The Lord gave me discernment and revealed who I should give attention to and who to flee from. When I spend time with the Lord the more sensitive I become as to whom I should give my attention to.

There are certain people the Lord wants us to keep company with. “Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil?” 2 Corinthians 6:14-15

When she asked me to get something for her, I knew that wasn't the right thing to do. Sometimes the enemy tends to distract our attention into unnecessary and unimportant details. For example,  when you sit for prayer, you're reminded of the person whom you need to message about an event or you're reminded to talk to your friend. The enemy’s goal is to get us to deviate from the Truth.

I must continually submit to God my thought life and resist every single thought that the enemy throws at me. Psalm 91:4-6

The personal message for me is to not pay attention to the thoughts that the enemy throws at me. They are like fiery darts that include thoughts of discouragement, negativity, especially those against identity.

The way to do this is by continuing to intercede daily and do what the Lord asks me to do. This dream reveals a simple way to resist the devil. Walk away from those who hinder my growth in the Lord. James 4:7

It's good to be available to people but it's important to be sensitive and follow the instructions of the Holy Spirit.

One theme the Lord continues to reveal in my dreams is the importance of recognizing the enemy’s presence. I must continually pray I have the same level of discernment that I did in this dream. I thank the Lord for all that he has placed inside of me.
