God's Indispensable Weapon Dream

God's Indispensable Weapon Dream

Angel Mercy

Bangalore, India

In this dream I’m in some kind of army, but I don’t see my comrades.

My enemies are accommodated in a dark room. When I say my enemies, it was just their heads. I don’t find it odd that I don’t see any bodies. Each head was placed on a square-shaped shelf. “Each shelf can certainly hold one head,” I thought. I didn’t find it odd that I didn’t see any bodies.“

I’m handed a weapon, but I don’t know what kind. I just knew that one minute I wasn’t holding a weapon and suddenly I had one with me.

It was time for me to destroy my adversaries and I directed my attack towards the human faces on the shelves; primarily those that were yellow. I sensed the yellow heads were the most dangerous. While on the attack I never saw the type of weapon I was using.

During the battle I sensed someone was close by, watching me with a mind to learn. For example: if you are working in a milk factory you take people with you to watch how they pasteurize the milk and the overall process. I sensed this individual was amazed at what he/she was learning. I continued to fight and at the same time knowing this individual was learning what it meant to be a soldier in an army.

At no point was I scared. I was confident.

End of dream.

Upon waking up I (Angel) started praying about this dream. The verses in Romans 8:37, Colossians 2:14-15, Hebrews 2:14, and Romans 16:20  came to mind. They are God’s promise that our enemy (Satan) was defeated by Christ. I can stand firm and I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.

“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

Angel has shared several of her dreams with me and a consistent theme are scenes of warfare where God is stretching her and expanding her ministry.

I prayed about her dream and shared the insight I received from the Lord. As I do with all dream interpretations, I asked Angel to pray about it and let the final interpretation be confirmed from the Lord.

This dream could be a bit unnerving given the room was filled with decapitated heads. However, Angel’s confidence and lack of fear in the dream opened her heart to receive an encouraging message from the Lord.

Dark Room:

Darkness represents spiritual warfare, death. If Angel hadn’t been a confident warrior in the dream I would suggest she pray about spiritual blindness. She was confident, therefore, though dark, she had spiritual sight and discernment of her surroundings.. Deuteronomy 28:29 and Psalm 146:8

Soldier:

Angel is a Christian, a soldier in God’s army. She should continue to pray to discern good from evil and for spiritual sight into the spiritual realm.

There will be times she is alone in battle, but God is always by her side. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3. “Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.” Psalm 144:1

Heads:

Most often the spiritual battlefield begins in our minds. Satan attacks our thoughts and emotions to get our eyes off God. What we dwell on distinguishes whether or not we are on the offense or defense from the attacks of the enemy. “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.” Romans 8:5 ESV

A different shelf for each head represents that the attacks of the enemy are often individualized and personal.

Reminder to be spiritually ready and alert at all times! I Peter 3:15

Angel walks in the power of the Spirit and was able to distinguish the most dangerous heads (yellow).

I believe the decapitated heads also symbolize that no matter how serious the attacks are, the enemy has already been defeated. (“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet,” Romans 16:20.)

Angel is comfortable in her ministry and that’s why it didn’t seem strange to see no bodies. “For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’ Deuteronomy 20:4

“Do not be afraid of them,” the Lord said to Joshua, “for I have given you victory over them.” Joshua 10:8

WEAPONS:

“God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.” Ephesians 6:13-18 MSG

Unseen weapon confirms spiritual warfare. “We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

Scripture teaches us that we are to carry our “Shield of Faith” and our “Sword of the Spirit,” which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:10-18

To wield our weapons of warfare, we must know who our faith is in (God alone) and that our greatest weapon is knowing the Word of God.

At the proper time, God will choose the weapon of warfare. She may not know what verses to speak or how to deal with a situation, but when she is in the midst of warfare, God will give her what she needs and when she needs it.

“Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who HAD the power of death.” Hebrews 2:14

 STRANGER/TEACHER:

Angel is aware someone is watching her. Another theme from her dreams is that God will stretch her and that she will teach others the spiritual things of God; directly and indirectly. Her ministry won’t be restricted to formal, ministerial settings.

God is using her to teach people the ministry she has been immersed in as a daughter of a pastor and in a country where idol worship and pagan rituals are commonplace. Angel understands a level of spiritual warfare that many do not, including myself. She has grown up in the church and has seen how seducing spirits of Satan torment and control people.

What she knows in the spiritual realm is something she can teach the body of Christ. God’s army and workers don’t have to be in a formal position of leadership to equip others.

You can read two of Angel’s dreams that show similar themes of warfare and how God is reinforcing that she is a soldier in his army. In the Act of Vigilance Dream she is fighting alone, whereas in the Bow and Arrow Dream she is working as one with her husband, Jordan.

Western Christianity:

Unlike the United States, India is a country where it’s estimated 2.3 percent of the population are Christians. Deuteronomy 32:17-18

The level of spiritual warfare Angel has experienced in India isn’t as common in the churches I have attended in the United States. Sometimes I feel like the person looking on in amazement. I want to learn. When Angel shares her dreams with me she is teaching and equipping me.  I’m one example where she is ministering in an informal setting.

Additional weapons and strategies of warfare:

  • “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” I Corinthians 16:13 check version

  • “For I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!” (Her weapon, the Word of God.) Luke 21:15

  • “You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.” Ephesians 2:2

  • “God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 3:10

  • “For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:16
