Honeycomb Dream

In my book, Submerged Into the Presence of God, I shared the first two visions I ever had. Having never heard a sermon, teaching, or seen a book on dreams or visions, God spoke to me in the most remarkable way. The moment it happened there was no questioning it was God. God is supreme and when he wants you to know it’s him, you will know.

It was during some of the most difficult times in my life that God used these two visions to comfort and encourage me for what lie ahead. They gave me hope to hold on and to know that one day life would change for the better. They weren’t visions of doves and rainbows, but they provided a message from the Lord that one day life wouldn’t always be the same and that one day I would be living in the promised land God had prepared all along.

In 2011 we said yes to God in an entirely new way. We left our sons, family, friends, my career, house, and home, and we’ve been following God’s unseen plans for our lives ever since.

I knew when we left for Germany in 2011 I was entering a new era but I didn’t know what that would look like or where we would end up. I just knew God was uprooting us from the land we had lived in for 26 years and that one day we would enter the land God promised me in my youth.

Before Rick retired, we didn’t know where we would live out our retirement years. All I knew is what God told me in the last three years as he neared the end of his career. During my prayer times, God continued to say, “you’ll know when you get there.”

You can read parts of my story in Beautiful Dreamer: Dreams God’s Personal Navigation System, but after Submerged was published I just knew we would be heading to the promised land flowing with milk and honey that God had prepared all along, but I assumed it would be after the plans that we had made would come to an end. I was confident that during our travels, at some unforeseen location, God would make it clear we were where he wanted us to be.

“I said this so I could keep my promise to your ancestors to give you a land flowing with milk and honey—the land you live in today.’” Then I replied, “Amen, Lord! May it be so.” Jeremiah 11:5

Those years of continual trials and tribulations have passed. God altered our plans in 2020 when COVID hit and life has indeed changed. When we bought our home in 2020 during the COVID quarantine, it was just as God said. I knew when I got here.

HONEYCOMB DREAM

I was inside what looked like a honeycomb that had an opening on both ends. I was swirled inside the way an ice cream cone is.

End of dream (September 10, 2021)

The Honeycomb Dream was a simple God-dream with a beautiful message that I am partaking in the “land flowing with milk and honey” that God promised me in my youth. Exodus 3:8; 20:6; Jeremiah 11:5; Numbers 13:27

I’d like to say no trials or suffering is ahead, but frankly, life doesn’t work that way. At least it hasn’t in my life, however, presently, I’m not living on eggshells as I use to when I was growing up in an alcoholic home. I’m not concerned about what decision I need to make tomorrow because of the sins of others that are affecting the outcomes of my life today.

The trials and tribulations I went through in my life for decades have passed. I could provide a timeline of events that includes how God sustained me all those years,  which included those two visions. God is forever faithful and he never lies or goes back on his word. Never!

“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie.” Hebrews 6:18

“Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.” Joshua 21:45

I don’t know what 2022 holds, or the years that follow, but I do know life isn’t without suffering. But, life doesn’t have to be without God. When we invite the Lord into our lives, he will always be present and carry us into the future. I am basking in the land he prepared for me long ago. I’m where he wants me.

I am so grateful to the Lord for what he has done in my life over the years and I praise Him because I know he has never left me and I am confident he will always be with me.

As the Honeycomb Dream symbolizes, I’m swirling around in his sweet love. The opening on both ends reveals his sweetness, his love spilling out from the past, present, future. His love endures forever; it’s new every morning. As his Words engulf me, they are sweet to the soul.

It is a time of flourishing. God’s provisions come in so many ways. He takes care of every detail of my life and being, i.e., spiritually, physically, mentally, relationally, financially.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE WAYS IN WHICH GOD’S “MILK AND HONEY” SUSTAINS AND BLESSES YOU?

Examples below:

BIBLE

“Fill your stomach with this,” he said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.” Ezekiel 3:3

The Word of God always brings comfort and peace. Do you read it to experience how his presence soothes the spirit and soul?”

Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” Psalm 16:24 John 1:1

KINDNESS:

May the words of my mouth come forth like honey, sweet to the soul of those who are listening. “How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.” Psalm 119:103

PROVISIONS OF FOOD:

“But I would feed you with the finest wheat. I would satisfy you with wild honey from the rock.” Psalm 81:16

SUSTAINED:

“Fill your stomach with this,” he said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.” Matthew 3:4; Mark 1:6

MONEY:

Be careful you do not seek the wrong provisions, i.e., just money, honor. “

“It’s not good to eat too much honey, and it’s not good to seek honors for yourself.” Proverbs 25:27

CONTENTMENT:

What provisions of “milk and honey” do you need to seek God for in order to live a contented life?

“Nevertheless, there will be enough milk for everyone because so few people will be left in the land. They will eat their fill of yogurt and honey.” Isaiah 7:22

As 2021 comes to an end, I pray that you can see and give thanks for the provisions God has bestowed over you in the last year. No matter what your situations have been or are looking like in the new year, God will sustain you. Bask in his loving presence and let his sweet love and Words soothe your soul into the New Year.
